Zong 4G Enhances Network Capacity with 400 New Sites in First Half of 2024

Karachi: Zong 4G has significantly expanded its network by adding 400 new 4G sites in the first half of 2024, bolstering its status as Pakistan’s second largest data network. This expansion is part of Zong’s broader strategy to enhance service quality and accessibility, especially in remote areas along the CPEC route.

According to Zong Pakistan, the network upgrade involved replacing older 2T2R technology with the more advanced 8T8R technology, focusing on improving service for customers in remote locations. The initiative also included over 1,400 power upgrades, incorporating Li-Ion battery solutions to improve charging speed and longevity. These developments are part of Zong’s commitment to network sustainability and enhanced customer experience across its growing base of 49 million users.

The achievement was celebrated with senior management from Huawei and ZTE, who pledged ongoing support for Zong’s future projects. The CEO of Zong 4G lauded the engineering and commercial teams for their dedication and effective pursuit of aggressive expansion targets, emphasizing the collaborative effort required to drive significant network growth and improve telecommunications infrastructure across Pakistan.
