Zong and Pakistan Airports Authority Launch 5G Customer Facilitation Desk at Karachi Airport

Karachi: Zong, a leading technology service provider in Pakistan, has partnered with the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) to introduce a 5G Customer Facilitation Desk at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. This initiative is designed to offer both domestic and international travelers seamless access to SIM activation, high-speed mobile data services, and real-time customer support upon their arrival at one of the country's busiest airports.

According to Zong Pakistan, this launch is an expansion of Zong's first-of-its-kind airport facilitation model, which was previously deployed at international airports in Islamabad and Lahore. The initiative highlights Zong's focus on enhancing customer experiences through advanced connectivity solutions, in support of Pakistan's broader agenda for digital transformation.

The establishment of the facilitation desk is expected to strengthen the digital ecosystem at the airport by ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for passengers. Zong plans to build on this momentum by expanding its presence at airports through future kiosk deployments in Peshawar and Multan.

In line with its technology roadmap, Zong continues to develop a range of digital products and services to meet the evolving connectivity needs of consumers and enterprises. The initiative also reflects the company's increasing focus on artificial intelligence-enabled solutions to offer smarter and more efficient travel experiences, aligning with the vision of a Digital Pakistan.

Anas Matloob, Deputy Regional General Manager - South at Zong, emphasized the importance of seamless connectivity for travelers passing through Karachi, a key gateway for both domestic and international journeys. He noted that this initiative enables passengers to access reliable telecom services immediately upon arrival, reinforcing Zong's commitment to customer convenience, innovation, and service excellence.

The Joint Director Commercial of the Pakistan Airports Authority in Karachi added that the focus at Jinnah International Airport remains on enhancing passenger facilitation through modern and efficient services. The collaboration with Zong is seen as a way to provide improved digital support to travelers, contributing to a more seamless, connected, and comfortable airport experience.

The launch underscores the shared commitment of Zong and PAA to leverage technology for improved passenger services and to strengthen Pakistan's digital infrastructure.
