Zong Expands 4G Network to Over 15 Cities in Gilgit Baltistan

Karachi: Zong has launched its high-speed 4G network services across more than 15 cities in Gilgit Baltistan, marking the largest network expansion in the region. This rollout includes major areas like Gilgit, Hunza, and Skardu, enhancing digital connectivity and supporting the local tourism and business sectors.

According to Zong Pakistan, this expansion is part of Zong’s commitment to boosting digitalization and improving network accessibility in Pakistan, particularly in the Gilgit-Baltistan area. The company has deployed 59 new 4G sites across the region, providing robust coverage to cities such as Astore in addition to Gilgit, Skardu, and Hunza. This initiative is also expected to benefit the numerous local and international tourists who visit the area annually.

Zong’s efforts are supported by a strategic partnership with the Special Communications Organization (SCO), which helps ensure that 4G services are both accessible and affordable. The CEO of Zong highlighted the importance of this development, stating it significantly advances their mission to support local communities by enhancing connectivity, which in turn opens up new avenues for economic and educational opportunities under challenging conditions.
