Gilgit: In a significant expansion of digital services, Zong has launched 59 new 4G commercial sites in Gilgit Baltistan, aiming to enhance internet connectivity in the region. The inauguration took place at the Gilgit Serena Hotel with notable figures, including the Minister of Law and Tourism, attending the event.
According to Zong Pakistan, the launch was attended by prominent officials such as Mr. Ghulam Muhammad, Minister of Law and Tourism, and Miss Suraya Zaman, Advisor IT. Their presence, along with other key figures like Mr. Gul Abid Wazir and Brig. Rao Muhammad Faheem Akhtar Khan, highlighted the collaboration between public and private sectors in boosting the region’s digital infrastructure.
Khawaja Shehzad Ullah, Executive Director of Sales and Distribution at Zong, expressed enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing the importance of 4G connectivity for local development, tourism, and economic growth. Mr. Huo Junli, CEO of Zong, also recognized the critical role of strategic partners such as the Special Communications Organization and the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority in this expansion.
This initiative by Zong is part of a broader effort to support Pakistan’s digital transformation and promote inclusive connectivity across all regions, aligning with the national digital agenda and contributing to the Belt and Road Initiative.
