KARACHI: United Business Group (UBG) President Zubair Tufail has called for the termination of the agreement between UBG and the Businessmen Panel (BMP), citing distrust and past breaches of commitment. He emphasized the importance of relying on the support of the business community rather than questionable alliances.

According to United Business Group, Tufail expressed dissatisfaction over BMP Secretary General Haji Ghulam Ali's disclosure of the agreement between UBG and BMP, which has led to internal discord. Tufail pointed to the BMP's history of breaking alliances, including an alleged breach of agreement with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its president-elect, Ali Hussam Asghar. He asserted that UBG should focus on securing votes independently in the upcoming elections for the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), rather than forming unreliable partnerships.
