Bank Al Habib Enhances Mobile and Netbanking Security to Counter Digital Scams

Karachi, Bank Al Habib Limited announced a series of updates to its mobile and netbanking platforms, introducing new security features to enhance protection against digital banking scams. The update is in compliance with the State Bank of Pakistan's security guidelines and includes mandatory biometric verification and a two-hour security buffer period for certain transactions to ensure a secure banking experience for customers.

According to Bank Al Habib Limited, the new security protocols will require customers to undergo biometric verification within the app to proceed with certain actions. If these actions are taken, a two-hour security buffer period will be initiated, allowing customers the opportunity to reverse any changes if they were not authorized by the account holder. This measure is intended to prevent fraudulent transactions and unauthorized access to customer accounts.

The bank also advised customers to update their contact information, such as registered mobile numbers and email addresses, especially if they plan to travel abroad. Additionally, customers are urged to register new devices with the bank as soon as possible to avoid any access issues with their accounts. These updates are part of the bank’s commitment to providing a safe and reliable digital banking experience.
