CDA Launches Emergency Helpline for Rainfall Issues in Islamabad

Islamabad, In response to recent heavy rains that led to water accumulation and traffic disruptions, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a new helpline dedicated to addressing rain-related emergencies in Islamabad. The initiative aims to provide timely assistance to citizens by facilitating swift water clearance and ensuring the smooth flow of traffic during adverse weather conditions.

According to Zameen.Com, the helpline was introduced following directives from CDA Chairman Capt (retd) Anwar-ul-Haq. The move comes after coordinated efforts by the CDA, the Municipal Corporation Islamabad (MCI), and the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) teams, which have been actively responding to complaints during the recent downpours. These teams have managed to keep major highways clear of water, thus avoiding traffic jams.

Furthermore, the CDA has implemented special measures across various sectors, including residential areas within housing societies and particularly vulnerable low-lying regions. These measures include the deployment of joint teams equipped with dewatering pumps to remove excess water. Additionally, the CDA has canceled staff holidays and implemented shift duties to enhance monitoring and response capabilities during ongoing rainy conditions.
