CDWP Approves Development Projects Totaling PKR 33 Billion, Recommends Further Investments

Islamabad, The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has given the green light to 17 development projects with a total investment of PKR 33 billion and forwarded recommendations for nine additional projects, amounting to PKR 867 billion, to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC).

According to Zameen.Com, the meeting, led by Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan, addressed needs across multiple sectors including agriculture, transport, higher education, mass media, healthcare, and water resources. Notable among the approved projects are those in agriculture valued at PKR 7 billion and transportation projects totaling PKR 9.55 billion. Significant proposals recommended for ECNEC’s approval include the Lahore-Sahiwal-Bahawalnagar Motorway at PKR 435.72 billion, and the Qaidi Azam Health Tower, budgeted at PKR 15 billion.

The CDWP’s actions are part of a broader strategy to enhance Pakistan’s infrastructure, stimulate economic growth, and advance social development through substantial sectorial investments.
