Currency Fluctuations Observed in Pakistan’s Foreign Exchange Market

Karachi, Recent data released by the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan shows subtle shifts in the buying and selling rates of major currencies including the US dollar, Euro, and British pound, indicating slight fluctuations in Pakistan's foreign exchange market over the past two days.

According to Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan, the US dollar saw a minor decrease in both buying and selling prices from May 2 to May 3, 2024, moving from 277.04 to 276.82 for buying and 279.65 to 279.48 for selling. Similarly, the Euro exhibited a slight increase in its buying rate while maintaining stability in the selling rate, and the British pound increased marginally in both buying and selling rates.

The rates for other currencies such as the Japanese Yen, UAE Dirham, and Saudi Riyal also showed minor changes. These fluctuations are part of the daily dynamics of the interbank market, where the rates for May 2 were recorded at 278.30 buying and 278.50 selling, and slightly decreased on May 3 to 278.21 buying and 278.41 selling.
