Sialkot, August 10, 2023 (PPI-OT): It is with immense pleasure and pride to announce that the Government of Pakistan has bestowed upon the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) the prestigious 'Development Leadership Award’ the only Chamber across Pakistan to have achieved the feat. The award was given in recognition of SCCI’s meritorious services in the domains of trade, commerce, and industrial development of Sialkot. Through this award, the Government has acknowledged the Chamber’s efforts in the promotion of exports, capacity building of entrepreneurs, skills development, and execution of mega projects including but not limited to the Sialkot International Airport, Sialkot Dryport, and AirSial.

This distinguished accolade was presented during an exuberant ceremony held at the Pak-China Friendship Centre on the August occasion of August 08, 2023. Mr. Abdul Ghafoor Malik, President of Sialkot Chamber received the award from Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives. The Development Leadership Awards have been curated to celebrate the nation’s high achievers including institutions/organizations that have ceaselessly and ardently dedicated their resources to the sublime cause of Pakistan's socio-economic advancement.

It is with immense pride; we share with you that the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry was the only trade body of Pakistan to be adorned with this exalted laurel. The constellation of awardees, drawn from every nook and cranny of Pakistan, were meticulously selected through a cumbersome process to grace the country’s very best for their top performance.

The conferral of this award mirrors the tapestry of four decades of achievements woven by the Sialkot Chamber. With grace and fortitude, the Chamber has always played its role as an envoy, representing both the industrial eminence and the spirit of our thriving city fostering economic growth and prosperity in the region. An upholder of steadfast devotion, the Sialkot Chamber has emerged as an undisputed champion of advocacy and lobbying, guarding the export sector and its invaluable contribution to our beloved nation.
