Karachi, The Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan (ECAP) released rates for various currencies on 17th and 18th October 2023. As per the press release from ECAP, on 18th October, the buying rate for USD stood at 278.00 and the selling rate at 281.00, marking a slight increase from the rates on the 17th October, which were 274.00 and 277.00 respectively.
Other currencies showed similar trends. The Euro's buying rate increased from 291.00 on 17th October to 293.00 on 18th October, with the selling rates at 294.00 and 296.00 for the respective days. The British Pound also rose, with the buying rate increasing from 338.00 to 342.50 and the selling rate from 341.00 to 346.00.
The Japanese Yen showed an increase in its rates with the buying rate moving from 1.80 to 1.83 and the selling rate from 1.85 to 1.88. Both the United Arab Emirates Dirham (AED) and Saudi Riyal (SR) buying rates remained the same at 76.00 for the AED on both days, but the SR increased from 73.30 to 74.70. The selling rate for AED was consistent at 76.75 while for the SR, it rose from 74.00 to 75.50.
Lastly, the interbank rate for USD on 18th October was noted as 280.30 for buying and 280.50 for selling, which is an increase from the previous day's rate of 277.00 and 277.20 respectively.
