Karachi: Ms. Qurrat Ul Ain, Acting President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), has condemned the bomb blast at the Quetta railway station, which resulted in the loss of 26 lives and left at least 62 injured, many critically. The incident has caused permanent disabilities among some of the injured, impacting their ability to work and support their families.
According to Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Ms. Ain emphasized that the families affected by this event face long-term trauma and financial uncertainty. She urged the federal and provincial governments to ensure that these families receive adequate medical facilities, financial compensation, and ongoing support to help them cope with their losses.
Ms. Qurrat Ul Ain highlighted the broader implications of such terrorist attacks, noting that they instill fear among the public, diminish investor confidence, disrupt business activities, and have adverse effects on employment and revenue generation in the city. She advocated for focused government attention on Balochistan, emphasizing the need for industrialization, tax incentives, special economic zones, and improved law and order to foster economic growth and attract investment.
Mr. Nasir Khan, Vice President of FPCCI, stressed the importance of empowering the youth of Balochistan through education and skill development to prevent them from falling prey to criminal activities. He called for creating employment opportunities and integrating the youth into the economic development process to alleviate poverty.
Mr. Khan also underscored the necessity of a comprehensive marketing and public relations campaign to attract domestic and foreign direct investment to Balochistan. He emphasized the need to assure investors of their safety and security, along with implementing concrete measures to prevent future terrorist activities.
