Dubai, Emirates has announced a collaboration with the International Aviation Consulting and Training (IACT), a commercial and training arm of the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). This partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at the Dubai Airshow, aims to provide specialized training solutions for employees in the airline's engineering departments.
According to Emirates, the MoU was signed by H.E Saif Mohammad Al Suwaidi, Director General of the UAE GCAA, and Adel Al Redha, Emirates’ Chief Operating Officer. The agreement outlines a cooperative framework where both organizations will facilitate training programs at the GCAA’s IACT and Emirates’ engineering facility. H.E. Al Suwaidi emphasized that this MoU aligns with the UAE government’s directives for collaborative efforts within the aviation industry to achieve shared goals more effectively.
Adel Al Redha remarked on the significance of this partnership, noting that it will enhance the longstanding relationship between Emirates and GCAA. The collaboration focuses on ensuring Emirates’ compliance with GCAA’s evolving regulations and equipping employees with critical skills in technical areas and certifications. This includes training in airworthiness related regulations, manufacturing, Airworthiness Review Certificate (ARC), Maintenance Organisation Review Certificate (MORC), and more.
The training provided by IACT will support Emirates’ efforts to maintain high standards in engineering training and contribute to the professional development of its staff. Emirates Engineering Training, approved to conduct both EASA and GCAA training, employs advanced tools and digital learning platforms to adapt to the changing regulatory landscape of the aviation industry.
Emirates Engineering is recognized for its in-house aircraft maintenance and engineering capabilities, often extending its services to other airlines through third-party maintenance contracts. IACT, as part of the UAE GCAA, plays a crucial role in enhancing aviation safety, security, sustainability, and excellence with its comprehensive portfolio of training and consultancy services.
