Islamabad, The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced an extension of the deadline for filing Sales Tax and Federal Excise Returns for March 2024 to April 22, 2024. The decision pushes back the original due date from April 18, providing taxpayers additional time to comply with their filing obligations.

According to Zameen.Com, the extension applies to the monthly sales tax return form and was authorized under section 74 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, and section 43 of the Federal Excise Act, 2005. The FBR issued directives to its field formations this Monday, allowing for the delayed submission as part of its efforts to facilitate taxpayers during the filing process.
