FBR Extends Office Hours to Achieve Tax Collection Goals

Islamabad, The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced extended office hours nationwide from June 28 to June 30 to meet its annual tax target for the fiscal year 2023-24. This adjustment is part of a broader effort to ensure the timely collection of taxes as the fiscal year draws to a close.

According to Zameen.Com, the FBR has issued a directive requiring all its offices, including large taxpayer units and regional offices, to remain open until late at night during this crucial period. The extended hours are set as follows: offices will close at 8 pm on June 28, at 6 pm on June 29, and will remain open until midnight on June 30, the last day of the fiscal year.

This measure is designed to provide taxpayers additional time to meet their tax obligations and is part of the FBR’s strategy to enhance its revenue collection efficiency. The directive also calls for chief commissioners of land revenue to work closely with the State Bank of Pakistan to ensure a smooth process for taxpayers during these extended hours.
