InDrive Launches STEM and AI Initiative for Pakistani Youth, Prioritizing Drivers’ Families

Islamabad: inDrive, a global mobility and urban services platform, has unveiled a new initiative to provide STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, coding, and AI training to school-age children and youth in Pakistan. The program aims to serve the children of drivers and marginalized communities, offering an opportunity to learn skills crucial for the digital economy.

According to InDrive, the program reserves 80% of its seats for the children of drivers, with the remaining 20% allocated to children from marginalized communities. This strategic distribution spans three age groups, following a successful pilot in Egypt. The initiative allows inDrive users in Pakistan to support the cause through its app, where passengers can earn digital coins via the inDrive MAX loyalty program. These coins can be donated to fund the resources and infrastructure needed for the STEM education initiative.

Muhammad Awais Saeed, Country Lead for inDrive Pakistan, emphasized the program's focus on using technology and programming as tools for social action. "We want to teach young students how to build digital solutions that address real problems right inside their own communities," said Saeed. The initiative aims to foster critical thinking and personal agency, highlighting technology's positive societal impact.

The initiative plans to train over 400 students, maintaining a balanced intake of approximately 100 children per regional location. The curriculum will be delivered through four to five specialized learning groups per location, ensuring an optimal learning environment. By integrating corporate infrastructure with community support, inDrive seeks to address social inequities and promote sustainable digital economic growth for the children of its partners.
