Karachi: K-Electric has announced an extension to the submission deadline for its Energy Progress and Innovation Challenge (EPIC) 2025, following an overwhelming response from innovators nationwide. The new deadline is now set for April 18, 2025, allowing participants more time to refine and submit their transformative energy solutions.

Launched in March 2025, EPIC has quickly become a prominent platform for collaboration among entrepreneurs, academia, and researchers. Over 100 local and international entities have engaged with K-Electric through extensive sessions, highlighting the initiative's broad appeal.

Moonis Alvi, CEO of K-Electric, expressed optimism about the initiative, stating, "EPIC 2025 is envisioned as a catalyst for revolutionary advancements in Pakistan's energy ecosystem." He emphasized the potential of the country's brightest minds to redefine sustainable energy solutions.

Sadia Dada, Chief Distribution and Marcomms Officer at K-Electric, noted the enthusiastic response as a testament to the talent and innovation present across Pakistan. "By extending the deadline, we're providing more opportunities for impactful ideas," she said.

EPIC 2025 focuses on themes aligned with regulatory priorities and customer challenges, including solutions for load-shedding, energy theft detection, and AI-driven demand forecasting. Innovators can address these challenges or propose their own ideas.

Participants will have the chance to present their ideas to industry experts and receive mentoring to enhance their proposals. The top three finalists will receive cash prizes exceeding PKR 3 million and a potential contract with K-Electric to implement their projects.
