Nestlé Pakistan to Highlight Regenerative Agriculture at Sustainable Development Conference

ISLAMABAD: Nestlé Pakistan is set to participate in the 29th Sustainable Development Conference and Sustainability Investment Expo, hosted by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute from November 2 to 5, 2026. The company will showcase its efforts to advance regenerative agriculture through food systems, climate action, and water stewardship.

According to Nestle Pakistan Limited, the company will build on its recognition from the previous year when it earned the top position in Renewable Energy & Low-Carbon Transitions at the SDC Sustainability Awards 2025. This year, Nestlé Pakistan will demonstrate how sustainability is being embedded across its value chain, from farms and factories to communities and ecosystems.

Under the theme "Advancing Regenerative Food Systems at Scale," the company's pavilion will offer visitors a view of the interventions being undertaken across its sustainability pillars. Interactive displays will highlight Nestlé Pakistan's sustainable practices and partnerships with farmers, showcasing efforts in renewable energy, regenerative farming, water stewardship, and packaging circularity.

Nestlé Pakistan's presence will extend beyond the exhibition floor to engage in policy dialogue. A joint plenary titled "Transforming Pakistan's Agriculture and Food Systems in an Age of Disruption: AI for Regenerative and Climate-Smart Agriculture," will address agriculture, climate resilience, and emerging technologies in the SDC discourse.

Dr. Abid Qaiyum Suleri, Executive Director of the Sustainable Development Policy Institute, emphasized the need to rethink food production, natural resource management, and climate change resilience, highlighting the importance of transitioning to regenerative and climate-smart food systems.

Nestlé Pakistan has recorded a 48% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in 2025 compared with its 2018 baseline, aiming to halve emissions by 2030 and achieve net zero by 2050. Its efforts include solar power capacity, biomass boilers, and energy-optimization initiatives at its manufacturing sites and farms.

The company aims to source 50% of its key ingredients from farmers adopting regenerative agriculture practices by 2030, with 40% of its fresh milk already sourced through such methods. In line with its vision for a circular economy, Nestlé is also focusing on packaging innovation and recycling partnerships to ensure none of its packaging ends up as litter.

Nestlé Pakistan's participation at the conference underscores its Creating Shared Value approach, aligning business success with meaningful impact for people, communities, and the planet.
