Cherat Cement Reports Decline in FY26 Earnings Amid Export Challenges

Karachi: Cherat Cement Company Ltd. (CHCC) conducted its analyst briefing to present the financial results for the fiscal year 2026 and outline the company's future plans. The briefing revealed a 16% decrease in earnings compared to the previous year, with net revenue also experiencing a decline.

According to AKD Securities Limited, CHCC reported earnings of PkR7.3 billion for FY26, translating to earnings per share (EPS) of PkR37.3. This marks a reduction from the previous year's earnings of PkR8.7 billion (EPS: PkR44.7). The company attributed the decline in net revenue, which fell by 4% to PkR36.5 billion, to a significant drop in export sales, despite a modest increase in local sales.

The briefing highlighted that total cement offtakes decreased by 2% year-over-year to 2.35 million tons. Local sales showed a 9% increase, reaching 2.2 million tons, while exports saw a substantial 57% decline to 0.2 million tons. The fall in exports was largely due to the closure of the Afghan border since October 2025. Consequently, local sales constituted 93% of the overall sales mix, up from 83% in the same period last year, though the local market share remained steady at 5.5%.
