Karachi: The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has unveiled plans for a major beautification project along Shahrah-e-Faisal, from the FTC Building to the Airport, aimed at enhancing the corridor's urban appeal and improving the aesthetics of its residential and commercial structures.
According to Zameen.Com, the initiative was announced following a meeting chaired by the Director General of SBCA, which included stakeholders such as the Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) and representatives from the District East administration. The project, under the guidance of the Provincial Minister for Local Government Saeed Ghani, will focus on revitalizing various structures along the avenue, including wedding halls and petrol stations, through painting, enhanced lighting, comprehensive cleaning, and the introduction of green landscaping.
The beautification efforts will also target the central green belt and include planting additional trees on both sides of the thoroughfare. During an extensive inspection, Director General Abdul Rasheed Solangi noted several buildings in deterioration, leading to the issuance of maintenance notices to address these concerns swiftly.
Emphasizing the importance of Shahrah-e-Faisal in defining Karachi's urban landscape, the Director General highlighted the avenue's role in attracting visitors and boosting the city’s cultural and economic vitality. The planned improvements are set to begin soon, marking a significant stride towards transforming Shahrah-e-Faisal into a vibrant showcase of Karachi’s progress and modernization.
