KCCI Hosts Free Medical Camp in Karachi, Offers Comprehensive Health Services

Karachi, The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), in a collaborative effort with Dr. Essa Laboratory and Diagnostic Centre, Al-Mustafa Welfare Trust, Khadim-e-Insaniyat, and Pakistan Eye Bank Society, held a free medical camp at its premises. The event attracted a large turnout, including KCCI members and the general public, offering various medical tests and consultations.

According to Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the medical camp provided a range of health services, including tests for sugar levels, cholesterol, bone mineral density, and Complete Blood Counts (CBC). Professionals such as dentists, gynecologists, and general physicians were available to examine patients and provide medical advice. The camp was attended by notable figures including KCCI President Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh, and Prof. Dr. Farhan Essa Abdullah, the chief executive of Dr. Essa Laboratory and Diagnostic Centre.

President Sheikh expressed gratitude towards the collaborating organizations for their support in setting up the camp. He emphasized KCCI's ongoing commitment to social causes and the well-being of Karachi's citizens, not just its business community. Sheikh highlighted the challenges faced by Pakistan's health sector, including inadequate funding and the slow pace of development compared to the growing population. He advocated for reduced costs of basic medical services and increased government funding for public hospitals to improve overall health standards.

The free medical camp is part of KCCI’s broader initiative to engage in community service and address healthcare accessibility, reaffirming its dedication to both business advocacy and public welfare.
