Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has initiated the “Life Insurance for All” program alongside seven other major projects aimed at driving socio-economic development, expanding infrastructure, and enhancing social security in the province. The launch of these projects was confirmed during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur.
According to Zameen.Com, the “Life Insurance for All” program is designed to provide life insurance coverage to all KP residents, ensuring financial protection for families in the event of the death of a household’s head. The scheme will offer compensation ranging from PKR 0.5 million to 1 million.
In addition to the insurance program, the KP government will establish a Provincial Islamic Takaful Insurance Company to meet the rising demand for Sharia-compliant insurance services. Another major initiative includes the construction of the Peshawar-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway, a 365 km trade corridor connecting KP with Balochistan and Punjab, facilitating smoother trade routes and regional integration.
Other projects include the development of a 120 km, 220 kV power transmission line from Swat to Chakdara, expected to generate an annual revenue of PKR 54 billion, and the establishment of a Trade Corridors Hub at Torkham to boost trade with Afghanistan and Central Asian Republics.
Additionally, the government plans to install solar-powered energy units for 65,000 low-income households, with an additional 65,000 units available in a second phase. All projects are expected to be completed by 2027.
As per Zameen.com, these initiatives reflect KP’s commitment to sustainable development and economic growth.
