KSE 100 Index Climbs Amid Gains in Key Stocks

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) witnessed a notable rise in its indices on the latest trading day, with the KSE 100 Index climbing by 517.43 points to reach a new high of 134,299.77. The KSE 30 Index also saw an increase, closing at 40,814.29, marking a gain of 132.52 points.

The day's trading session was marked by significant performances from several key stocks. MEHT led the gainers with a 10% increase, reaching a price of 388.00. Close behind, KTML also recorded a 10% rise, climbing to 230.80. THALL followed with a 6.45% increase, ending the day at 434.27.

Market capitalization of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) saw a 0.48% increase, reaching Rs 16,288.55 billion or approximately US$57.26 billion. The trading volume was robust, with a total of 765.08 million shares exchanged, valued at Rs 40.17 billion or US$141.20 million.

Conversely, some stocks faced declines, with BNWM experiencing the most significant drop, losing 8.27% to settle at 93.89. AKBL and ABL also saw declines, with losses of 3.49% and 3.33%, respectively.

In terms of market volume leaders, BOP topped the list with significant trading activity, followed by ASL and KOSM. The day's performance reflects continued investor interest and positive sentiment in the market, despite some regional markets experiencing mixed results.

Globally, regional markets showed varied performances. While China's SSEA remained stable, India's BSESN fell by 0.8%. Indonesia's JKSE saw a rise of 0.6%, while Korea's KOSPI experienced a slight decline of 0.2%.

The KSE's positive movement adds to its year-to-date gains, with the KSE 100 Index up by 16.65% for the calendar year 2025. As investors continue to engage with the market, the outlook remains cautiously optimistic.
