Karachi: Stocks in Pakistan experienced a notable downturn as both the KSE30 and KSE100 indexes closed lower on Thursday. According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the KSE30 index fell by 528.79 points, closing at 47,322.74, while the KSE100 index declined by 1,437.05 points to end the day at 154,421.43.
The performance marked a decrease of 1.11 percent for the KSE30 and 0.92 percent for the KSE100 compared to the previous trading session. The indexes witnessed highs of 48,240.87 and 157,080.29, respectively, with lows of 47,005.83 and 153,503.70 during the day's trading.
Market turnover also showed a decline, with the regular market segment recording 404,252,601 shares traded, down from the prior session's 441,876,783. The traded value in the regular segment also decreased to 24,674,837,379 from 24,984,480,069. Despite the downturn, market capitalization stood at 17,366,459,028,726, a slight drop from the previous session's 17,535,080,283,738.
The DFC segment saw a reduction in both turnover and traded value, with 73,162,500 shares traded and a value of 4,949,741,960, compared to 105,801,500 shares and 6,212,402,580 in the previous session. The ODL segment recorded a turnover of 1,242 shares, with a traded value of 22,864.
The CSF segment remained inactive, registering no trades.
