KSE Indices Decline Amid Lower Turnover and Traded Value

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange witnessed a decline in its key indices as of August 19, 2026, with the KSE30 index falling by 0.80% and the KSE100 index dropping by 0.62%. The downturn was accompanied by a decrease in both market turnover and traded value, as reflected in the latest figures released.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the KSE30 index closed at 52,438.23, down from the previous 52,861.72, while the KSE100 index ended the day at 176,846.36, compared to 177,955.51 in the prior session. The indices touched intraday highs of 53,166.04 and 178,942.31, respectively, before retreating to their closing levels.

The market turnover for regular transactions was recorded at 787,893,703, a significant drop from the previous 1,038,636,917. The traded value saw a similar decline, falling to 39,567,871,264 from 50,741,137,279. The market capitalization also decreased, closing at 19,814,819,182,503 compared to the earlier 19,906,150,759,542. In the deliverable future contracts category, turnover fell from 248,174,500 to 182,775,500, and traded value decreased from 14,100,785,395 to 10,708,742,520. No activity was reported in the cash-settled futures segment.
