KSE Indices Face Decline Amid Increased Market Turnover

KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) indices experienced a decline on Monday, with both the KSE30 and KSE100 indices closing lower than their previous positions. The KSE30 index ended the day at 54,005.86, marking a decrease of 257.39 points, or 0.47%, from its previous level of 54,263.26. Meanwhile, the KSE100 index fell by 119.74 points, or 0.07%, closing at 181,310.28 compared to the previous day's 181,430.02.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the day saw a notable increase in market activity despite the decline in indices. The turnover for the regular market reached 917,268,550, up from the previous 716,038,560. The traded value also saw a significant rise, amounting to 44,805,701,089, compared to 34,102,331,510 recorded previously. Market capitalization slightly increased to 20,257,810,160,786 from 20,237,748,998,422. The derivatives market also showed an uptick, with DFC turnover rising to 242,363,500 from 162,568,000, and its traded value increasing to 12,361,058,365 from 7,490,447,280. The ODL turnover and traded value also showed growth, although the CSF segment remained inactive.
