FLASHNEWS:

Lahore: The Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association announced that the list of international participants for the upcoming global exhibition of hand-woven carpets will be finalized this week. The event, scheduled for October, aims to attract delegates from Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Türkiye, and other countries. The announcement follows a meeting between the Association and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).

The exhibition, now in its 41st edition, will also include bilateral meetings to strengthen ties with international buyers. The Association expressed confidence that relevant federal and provincial departments will play crucial roles in ensuring the event's success, expected to benefit both the carpet industry and the national economy.

Exhibition Chairman Riaz Ahmed led the meeting at the Association's office, which included key members such as Carpet Training Institute Chairperson Ijaz-ur-Rehman and others. Ahmed updated attendees on the progress of contacts with government officials and foreign delegates. He assured that foreign guests would receive excellent hospitality and security during their visit to Pakistan.

Ahmed highlighted the exhibition's long-term potential, not just as a platform to reinforce existing relationships with foreign buyers but also as a means to explore new markets. A comprehensive strategy will be developed to seize these opportunities post-event.

The meeting revealed that over 100 foreign buyers are expected to attend, with the final list to be confirmed this week in consultation with TDAP. Ahmed acknowledged TDAP's cooperation, which has been vital in the preparations, and called for further support from other relevant institutions.

He noted the challenge faced by Pakistani manufacturers and exporters due to competition from traditional rivals. While the Association is committed to making the event successful, government institutions' support remains essential.
