LDA DG Muhammad Ali Randhawa Urges Swift Progress on Bund Road Projects in Lahore

Lahore, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Muhammad Ali Randhawa has called for an acceleration in the development of the ‘controlled access corridor’ project on Bund Road, emphasizing the need for timely completion.

According to Zameen.Com, DG Randhawa conducted a review of the ongoing work on both package 1 (stretching from Babu Sabu to Sagiyan) and package 2 (from Sagiyan to Niazi Chowk) of the project. During a meeting with contractors responsible for these segments, a strategy was outlined to hasten the pace of construction.

In his directive, Randhawa specifically urged the contractor of package 2 to deploy additional resources, including more machinery and labor, to expedite progress. LDA’s Chief Engineer Israr Saeed, along with project contractors and the project director, reported that 42 percent of package 1 and 25.5 percent of package 2 have been completed so far.

Additionally, Randhawa visited Shahdara Chowk to inspect the development work surrounding the newly built flyover. He instructed the officials and contractors to speed up remaining tasks like plantation, and the construction of side roads and drains, to meet project deadlines. The DG also emphasized the importance of a well-structured traffic management plan at Shahdara Chowk, in coordination with the traffic police, to maintain a smooth flow of traffic amidst the ongoing construction activities.

The accelerated pace of these projects under the LDA’s supervision is expected to significantly improve infrastructure and traffic management in Lahore.
