LDA Director General Calls for Enhanced Performance from TEPA

Lahore, During a visit to the Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency (TEPA) headquarters, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General Tahir Farooq urged for a significant improvement in the enforcement wing's performance to ensure more visible and effective operations in the field.

According to Zameen.Com, TEPA Chief Engineer Iqrar Hussain briefed the Director General on the agency’s recent activities and accomplishments, highlighting the completion of pothole repairs at 539 locations across the city, a directive from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

DG Farooq underscored the necessity of an action plan aimed at enhancing TEPA’s overall effectiveness. He stressed the importance of removing illegal signboards along city roads, enforcing parking rules strictly as per approved layouts, and clearing encroachments in parking areas. Farooq also emphasized on the urgency of issuing notices to violators and taking subsequent action against those who fail to comply.

Furthermore, he assigned TEPA’s Chief Engineer the responsibility of devising a future action plan, which includes conducting a survey of U-turns at the city’s entrance and exit points. He encouraged collaboration with the traffic police to ameliorate traffic flow at crucial junctures, underscoring the collective effort required to address traffic and infrastructure challenges in Lahore.
