LDA Proposes Blue and Purple Line Metro Projects in Lahore

Lahore, The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has put forward the Blue and Purple Line Metro Train projects to the Punjab government, seeking approval to kickstart these significant urban transport initiatives. Once sanctioned, the detailed planning and budgeting phase, known as PC-1, will begin for these expansive transit systems.

According to Zameen.Com, the LDA has detailed the financial and structural aspects of these proposed lines to the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, and her Cabinet. The combined cost for the projects is projected at PKR 14.5 trillion. The Purple Line Metro Train, estimated to cost about 577 billion rupees, aims to facilitate travel across a 16-kilometer stretch from the airport to Bhati Chowk, featuring 16 stations and expected to accommodate daily ridership of around 250,000 passengers.

On the other hand, the Blue Line Train Project, with an estimated cost of 872 billion rupees, is designed to span 27 kilometers from Valencia Town to Babu Sabu Interchange, incorporating 28 stations to serve an estimated 400,000 commuters each day.

These proposed projects represent a substantial investment in Lahore's public transport infrastructure, aiming to enhance connectivity and daily transportation for its citizens.
