Karachi: The Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD) and the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) will jointly organize a Medical Tourism Conference, aiming to promote Pakistan as a global healthcare destination. The event, under the theme "Serving Global Patients with Paramount Quality Services," is part of the "Tea for Tourism Series" and is scheduled for July 15, 2025, at the ICCD Headquarters in Karachi.
The conference will gather experts, healthcare professionals, hospital administrators, pharmaceutical and biomedical firms, supply chain specialists, and government officials from both Pakistan and abroad. The focus will be on discussing trends, innovations, and challenges in the medical tourism sector, with the goal of identifying strategies to enhance service delivery and attract global patients.
In addition to the conference, a dedicated Expo will provide participants the opportunity to showcase healthcare products and demonstrate medical and wellness services. A distinguished VIP guest will inaugurate the event and expo.
This initiative follows the recent success of the Sustainable Tourism Forum, also jointly hosted by ICCD and FPCCI, which welcomed international delegations. Building on this momentum, the two organizations aim to position Pakistan as a hub for sustainable and medical tourism among OIC member countries.
The leadership of FPCCI and ICCD highlighted the potential economic opportunities of linking health and tourism. As global demand for affordable, high-quality medical care rises, Pakistan is seen as a potential destination of choice for international patients.
The Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development is an international institution affiliated with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, representing the private sector across 57 member states, with its headquarters in Karachi, Pakistan.
