Meezan Bank Exceeds PKR 3 Billion in Affordable Housing Finance

Karachi: Meezan Bank, Pakistan's Premier Islamic Bank, has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing PKR 3.05 billion in disbursements under the Government of Pakistan's affordable housing initiative, Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar Programme - Ghar Ho Tu Apna (GHTA). The program targets salaried individuals, aiming to make home ownership more accessible through Shariah-compliant financing solutions.

According to Meezan Bank Limited, the bank has facilitated 490 families in acquiring homes through its Easy Home financing solution, aligning with the government's goal to promote affordable housing. The achievement demonstrates the growing demand for Shariah-compliant housing finance, as well as Meezan Bank's commitment to expanding home ownership through ethical and customer-focused financing solutions.

The bank has approved over 3,000 housing finance applications under the GHTA Programme, amounting to more than PKR 22.557 billion in financing. This highlights the increasing interest in Shariah-compliant financing and positions the bank for substantial future disbursements as property acquisitions are completed.

Ahmed Ali Siddiqui, Group Head - Consumer Finance & Digital Banking at Meezan Bank, emphasized the importance of affordable home ownership as a strategic priority. The bank's progress under the GHTA Programme reflects customer trust and dedication to providing genuine Shariah-compliant housing finance, with a strong pipeline indicating continued support for the government's housing agenda.
