My Karachi – Oasis of Harmony Exhibition Attracts Record Crowds, Highlights Economic Potential

KARACHI: The 20th edition of the "My Karachi - Oasis of Harmony" Exhibition, organized by the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), concluded with significant success at the Karachi Expo Center. This three-day event saw nearly 800,000 visitors exploring over 350 stalls presented by both local and international exhibitors. The exhibition celebrated Karachi's entrepreneurial spirit and cultural diversity while highlighting its economic potential.

The Karachi Chamber announced that the 21st edition of the exhibition would take place from February 6 to February 8, 2026. Since its inception in 2004, the exhibition has become a symbol of peace, prosperity, and harmony in Karachi. This year, it featured a wide range of participants, including multinational brands, diplomatic missions, and women entrepreneurs.

Governor Sindh Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori, speaking at the closing ceremony, commended KCCI's efforts. He revealed that the federal government had released Rs. 20 billion for Karachi's development and discussed plans for the K-IV project with the business community. He emphasized the importance of secure infrastructure and urged collaboration among government bodies to address the city's challenges.

Governor Tessori also announced a recommendation for a civil award for Chairman Businessmen Group (BMG) Zubair Motiwala in recognition of his contributions to the business community. Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah praised the exhibition and expressed the Sindh Government's support for the business sector. He also announced the theme for Sindh's Independence Day celebrations, "Maarka-e-Haq."

Chairman BMG Zubair Motiwala noted the growing international participation in the exhibition and highlighted the need for resolving issues such as water and gas shortages. He called for the completion of the K-IV project and advocated for holding the exhibition twice a year due to its popularity.

President KCCI Muhammad Jawed Bilwani thanked stakeholders for their support and reiterated the need for a modern Expo Center in Karachi. He stressed addressing infrastructure issues and highlighted the imbalance in gas and water distribution.

The exhibition included cultural performances, economic dialogues, and international participation, reaffirming Karachi's role in Pakistan's economy. The event not only provided affordable shopping and entertainment but also served as a platform for strategic dialogue among government officials, business leaders, and foreign representatives.

The Karachi Chamber aims to further enhance the exhibition's scope in the coming years, continuing to serve as the voice of the city's business community.
