He highlighted the potential of the younger generation in leading Pakistan out of climate challenges.

Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, underscored the private sector's critical role in sustainable solutions during his address at the conference. He noted the government's commitment to addressing climate issues, citing Pakistan's access to $1.3 billion in climate financing from international bodies like the IMF, World Bank, and ADB.

Jason Avanceña, Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Pakistan, praised the conference's actionable recommendations for supporting the country's transition to a climate-resilient economy. He also announced Nestlé's additional USD 60 million investment in Pakistan to bolster sustainability initiatives, building upon a previous USD 40 million commitment from 2023 to 2025.

Nestlé's global Net Zero goals aim for a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, working towards Net Zero by 2050. The company has already achieved significant reductions in emissions and introduced new sustainable packaging initiatives.

Nestlé's efforts align with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in waste management and renewable energy, as demonstrated by projects like the Clean Gilgit-Baltistan Project.
