Pakistan and China Reaffirm Commitment to Timely Completion of CPEC Projects

Islamabad, During a significant meeting with the Chairman of China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), Mr. Luo Zhaohui, President Asif Ali Zardari reiterated Pakistan's commitment to the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and emphasized the deep-rooted ties between the two nations.

According to Zameen.Com, President Zardari highlighted the strategic importance of CPEC and pledged full support for its timely completion during his discussions at Aiwan-e-Sadr. He stressed the role of Gwadar Port in enhancing regional connectivity and efficient transportation of goods to China and proposed joint training initiatives to develop a skilled workforce catering to Chinese demands.

Mr. Luo Zhaohui updated President Zardari on CIDCA's ongoing contributions to Pakistan's socio-economic sectors, including health, education, and disaster relief, and expressed interest in expanding cooperation in tourism and agriculture. President Zardari thanked China for its support in various development projects, notably in flood relief, school reconstruction, and housing initiatives for Lady Health Workers in Sindh and Balochistan.

The meeting also included Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Dr. Jahanzeb Khan, and other senior officials from both governments, reflecting the high-level engagement on both sides to further strengthen bilateral ties through CPEC and other collaborative efforts.
