Lahore: The Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA) expressed satisfaction over the successful conclusion of a three-day international exhibition in Lahore, noting that the event surpassed expectations in terms of export orders and participation from international buyers. PCMEA Chairman Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman and Vice Chairman Riaz Ahmed acknowledged the extensive support from the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) in organizing the event.
At a review meeting assessing the exhibition's outcomes, attended by key industry figures including Patron-in-Chief Abdul Latif Malik and Carpet Training Institute Chairperson Ejaz-ur-Rehman, the participants commended the organizing team for their effective management of the event. The exhibition has instilled a sense of optimism in Pakistan's handmade carpet industry, according to Atiq-ur-Rehman and Ahmed.
The leaders revealed that significant export orders were placed during the event, with official figures pending completion of data compilation. They also announced plans for Pakistan's active participation in upcoming international exhibitions, Carpet Expo in Türkiye, Heimtextil and Domotex in Germany, scheduled for January next year.
Efforts were discussed to strengthen trade relations with foreign companies that attended the exhibition, including sending goodwill letters to maintain long-term business connections. The PCMEA leadership urged the TDAP to continue its support for these efforts to enhance exports and earn valuable foreign exchange for the country.
