Pakistan Stock Exchange Sees Broad Gains Across Major Indices and Active Trading in Key Sectors

Karachi, The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced significant gains across all major indices on Tuesday, with active trading observed in key sectors including aviation, cement, and telecommunications. The market’s overall bullish trend was reflected in the day’s closing figures, showcasing growth in market capitalization and turnover.

The KSE-30 index rose by 283.69 points, closing at 22,251.42, while the broader KSE-100 index saw an increase of 869.77 points, ending the day at 67,756.04. Similarly, the KSE All Share Index climbed 288.65 points to close at 44,591.51. The KMI-30 and KMI All Share Indices, representing mid-cap and small-cap companies, also posted gains, with the former rising by 2,223.43 points to 113,859.04 and the latter up by 325.10 points to 31,733.62.

In the trading session, the Ready Market recorded substantial activity with P.I.A.C. (A) leading the turnover, followed by Flying Cement and WorldCall Telecom among the top traded companies. Significant gains were noted in several companies, with Hallmark Company Limited and Lucky Cement Limited among those registering the highest increases in their stock prices.

The futures market also reflected active participation with notable movements in contracts for PIAA-APR and PTC-APR leading the turnover. Positive momentum was observed in the rates of several companies, with LUCK-APR and ENGRO-APRB standing out for their appreciable gains.

Market turnover on the day was markedly higher than the previous session, with regular trading volumes reaching 361,823,380 shares, compared to 239,650,377 shares in the previous session. The traded value in the regular market also saw a significant rise, amounting to Rs. 11,901,134,189, up from Rs. 8,940,205,011 in the previous session, indicating increased investor confidence and participation.

This positive market performance reflects a growing investor optimism in the Pakistani equity markets, spurred by favorable trading conditions and potential growth prospects in several key sectors.
