People worried about jobs and inflation, tired of political conflict

Karachi, March 26, 2023 (PPI-OT): Former Vice President of FPCCI Atif Ikram Sheikh on Sunday said the masses are worried about their jobs and increasing inflation and they are fed up with endless political wrangling. Politicians have crossed all boundaries of morality in the race to humiliate each other and instead of giving any program to save the country’s economy, they are indulging in accusations, he said.

Atif Ikram Sheikh who has also served as Chairman of PVMA said in a statement issued here that the IMF is playing a cat-and-mouse game with Pakistan while not a single political party has any plan to run the economy with or without the help of the international organization.

Political leaders have failed to present a workable solution to the nation, which is disappointing the public and the business community, he added. The business leader said that the politicians are unable to understand that the problem of the people is not their power, but earning bread and keeping employment in the unbearable inflation.

He said that for the majority, it has become impossible to run the budget of their homes and the solution to such problems lies with the government which gives some relief and protection to the people but now the welfare of the people has been neglected and they are at the mercy of the circumstances.

There is no economic governance in the country and the political leaders are not ready to agree on the Charter of Economy. In these circumstances, people and businessmen are worried about the political and economic future of Pakistan. He informed that items of daily use are more expensive in the market compared to the official inflation data, while nothing is being done to control profiteering, leading to public outrage.
