Peshawar Launches Inclusive Business Park to Empower Diverse Entrepreneurs

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KP-EZDMC) has inaugurated the Inclusive Business Development Park (IBDP) in Peshawar, marking a significant step towards inclusive economic growth. This new initiative aims to support a broad spectrum of entrepreneurs, including those often marginalized in business sectors, such as women, persons with disabilities, and transgender individuals.

According to Zameen.Com, the IBDP, funded by a PKR 71 million grant from the World Bank through the Khyber Pass Economic Corridor (KPEC), is strategically positioned within the Peshawar Economic Zone. This park is designed to facilitate small businesses in scaling their operations and enhancing their sustainability through a comprehensive support infrastructure.

The park differs from traditional business incubation centers by incorporating a production house, which enables the resident entrepreneurs to manufacture products directly on-site. This setup not only aids in product development but also assists in business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking, market access, and networking opportunities, integrating these startups with established industrial entities in the region.

Currently, the IBDP houses 17 start-ups specializing in various fields such as engineering, design, and services. Among these are an electric bike manufacturer, a 3D printing business, and a perfume company, all of which benefit from the park’s extensive resources and support systems aimed at fostering competitive and sustainable business growth.
