Punjab Government Launches Roadshow to Promote Interest-Free Electric Bikes for Students

Faisalabad, A roadshow to promote interest-free electric bikes for students was initiated yesterday at the Iqbal Auditorium, University of Agriculture in Faisalabad, as part of a new initiative by the Punjab government to enhance student mobility across the province.

According to Zameen.Com, the event featured remarks from Provincial Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan, who outlined the details of the program aligned with the Chief Minister’s Youth Initiatives. The program aims to distribute 20,000 electric motorbikes to students through convenient installment plans, helping them overcome transportation challenges and facilitating easier access to educational institutions. Minister Khan emphasized that this effort is part of a broader strategy endorsed by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to improve the daily lives of students.

During the roadshow, Minister Khan conveyed the government’s plans to conduct similar events across Punjab to raise awareness and encourage participation. He noted that over 100,000 students have already expressed interest in the program, and applications for the electric bikes will be accepted until April 29.

In response to the high demand, Minister Khan announced that a second phase of the program is being planned, which will increase the number of available electric bikes to better meet student needs.
