Punjab Introduces One-Window System for Business Procedures

Lahore, Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced the implementation of a master plan for a one-window system aimed at simplifying business processes, fostering industrial growth, and attracting investment. This initiative, reported on November 14, is set to revolutionize the way businesses operate in Punjab by offering a more streamlined and efficient process for obtaining necessary approvals and no-objection certificates (NOCs).

According to Zameen.com, During a meeting presided over by CM Naqvi, the comprehensive master plan for the One Window Operation system was unveiled, with its launch expected next month. The system's central facility will be located in the Al-Falah Building, providing a centralized point for business interactions. Additionally, an online portal will be established to offer accessible and detailed information to businesses, and dedicated focal persons will be assigned to each department to facilitate smoother operations.

CM Naqvi emphasized the need for swift resolution of any issues related to the implementation of the One Window Operation system. He also highlighted the importance of expanding the office’s seating capacity to accommodate the expected increase in users. Drawing inspiration from the successful model of the LDA one-window cell, Naqvi called for the development of long-term Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), which are crucial for the system's sustainability and effectiveness.

The meeting was attended by Provincial Ministers SM Tanveer and Amir Mir, along with secretaries of various departments including Industries, Local Government, Environment, and the Commissioner of the Lahore Division. Additionally, the Chairman and Director General of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), CEOs of FIEDMC and PIEDMC, the MD of Punjab Small Industries Corporation, and other relevant officers were present to discuss and finalize the operational aspects of the new system.
