Islamabad: The Pakistani Rupee's decline persisted against major international currencies, according to the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan (ECAP)'s closing rates on August 12, 2025. The US Dollar further solidified its position, closing at 283.80 rupees for buying and 284.90 rupees for selling.
The Euro also saw gains against the weakening Rupee, trading at 328.95 rupees for buying and 331.10 for selling. The British Pound reached 380.96 rupees for buying and 383.21 rupees for selling.
Meanwhile, the Japanese Yen traded at 1.89 rupees for buying and 1.94 rupees for selling. The UAE Dirham closed at 77.28 rupees for buying and 77.55 for selling, while the Saudi Riyal ended the day at 75.53 rupees for buying and 75.85 rupees for selling. These figures from the State Bank of Pakistan paint a concerning picture of the local currency's performance.
