State Bank of Pakistan Reports Overnight Repo and Reverse Repo Facility Usage

Karachi: The State Bank of Pakistan disclosed figures for its overnight repo and reverse repo facilities, indicating the financial activities of market institutions on November 13, 2025. These facilities, which play a critical role in managing liquidity in the banking system, saw specific usage levels by financial institutions.

The central bank's report shows that one financial institution accessed the Overnight Repo Facility, utilizing Rs. 23,000 million. This facility, known as the floor, is typically used by banks to manage short-term liquidity requirements.

Conversely, the Overnight Reverse Repo Facility, referred to as the ceiling, was accessed by one institution, with an amount of Rs. 700 million. This facility allows banks to park excess funds with the central bank.

The usage of these facilities reflects the ongoing liquidity management efforts by financial institutions to maintain stability in the domestic markets. The figures provided by the State Bank of Pakistan offer insight into the monetary operations and the bank's role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the financial system.
