Karachi: In a significant development for Pakistan's business community, the United Business Group (UBG) and the Businessmen Panel (BMP) have announced a collaborative alliance, aiming to present a unified front in addressing the challenges facing the country's business sector. Zubair Tufail, President of UBG and former President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), emphasized the alliance as a strategic move to fortify the national economy.
According to a statement by UBG's Central Spokesperson Gulzar Feroz, Tufail highlighted the pressing issues plaguing the business community, which have led to widespread distress. He stressed the need for a robust platform to communicate effectively with the government, facilitating immediate solutions.
Tufail noted that collaboration between UBG and BMP is expected to reduce electoral spending significantly. He called on Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif and his cabinet to engage in genuine consultations with the business community to address their concerns promptly.
The UBG President extended his congratulations to key figures such as former Federal Minister for Commerce Dr. Gohar Ejaz, UBG Patron-in-Chief S M Tanvir, and BMP Chairman Mian Anjum Nisar for their involvement in the alliance. He also acknowledged the contributions of Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir in strengthening national defense and the economy.
The newly formed alliance between the two leading business groups is seen as a pivotal step toward steering Pakistan's economy toward sustained growth.
