Adeel Munawar Proposes Pakistan-China Pharma Portal to Boost Bilateral Cooperation

Lahore: Adeel Munawar, Commercial Ambassador of the Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI), has proposed the creation of a Pakistan-China Pharma Portal aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector. The initiative is envisioned as a digital platform to facilitate trade, technology transfer, investment, research collaboration, regulatory coordination, and business networking between pharmaceutical stakeholders of the two countries.

According to Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Munawar highlighted the already strong strategic partnership between Pakistan and China and identified the pharmaceutical industry as a promising area for expanding economic cooperation. The proposed portal is intended to serve as a comprehensive platform connecting pharmaceutical manufacturers, exporters, importers, investors, researchers, healthcare professionals, and regulatory authorities to foster collaboration and explore new business opportunities.

China's advancements in pharmaceutical innovation and manufacturing, achieved through investment in research and development and adherence to internationally recognized quality standards, present opportunities for Pakistan to benefit from enhanced institutional collaboration. Munawar emphasized that Pakistan's pharmaceutical industry, despite its recent growth and expanded production capacity, could further improve its technological capabilities and integration into global supply chains by learning from China's expertise.

The establishment of the Pakistan-China Pharma Portal is expected to create a centralized digital ecosystem offering access to market intelligence, investment opportunities, regulatory updates, product directories, business matchmaking services, and technology partnerships. Munawar reiterated PCJCCI's commitment to promoting sector-specific collaboration and urged policymakers, pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, investors, and healthcare organizations from both countries to support the initiative. He described the portal as a transformative step toward strengthening bilateral trade, accelerating technological cooperation, and developing a resilient pharmaceutical ecosystem aligned with future healthcare needs, thereby reinforcing the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China.
