Karachi: During a visit to the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Ambassador of Morocco to Pakistan, Mohammad Karmoun, emphasized the need to enhance the bilateral trade between Pakistan and Morocco, currently underperforming with potential to exceed $232 million. The ambassador highlighted key sectors for collaboration and the strategic position of Morocco as a gateway to Europe and Africa.
According to Korangi Association of Trade and Industry, Ambassador Karmoun addressed industrialists, pointing out opportunities in tourism, pharmaceuticals, and auto spare parts, which could benefit from Morocco's free trade agreements with African countries and the European Union. He noted Morocco's significant investments in ports, telecommunications, and banking, which could offer advantageous prospects for Pakistani investors.
The event was attended by key figures including KATI's Deputy Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya, Senior Vice President Nighat Awan, and Vice President Muslim Mohammadi, who all advocated for increased engagement through trade delegations and business-to-business meetings to explore new areas of partnership. The discussions highlighted the untapped potential in both markets and the importance of facilitating bilateral trade delegations to foster mutual investments and capitalize on both countries' strategic sectors.
