Islamabad: Bank Alfalah, in collaboration with the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), has expanded its role in promoting women's entrepreneurship and financial inclusion in Pakistan. The bank, which has partnered with BISP for over a decade, was recently awarded a significant portion of the program’s contracts, enhancing its impact on the nation's social welfare landscape.
According to Bank Alfalah, the new contract will enable the bank to serve 4.3 million beneficiaries, which constitutes 47% of the BISP beneficiary base, making it the largest single contracting institution for the programme. This expansion was discussed in a recent meeting at BISP Headquarters, involving key figures such as Atif Bajwa, President and CEO of Bank Alfalah, and BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid, where they reaffirmed their commitment to respectful and dignified treatment of beneficiaries.
The partnership focuses on developing and implementing innovative projects that will empower beneficiaries financially and promote financial literacy to foster independence. Over the years, Bank Alfalah has disbursed more than PKR 388 billion digitally to BISP recipients, demonstrating a sustained commitment to empathy and responsibility. Looking ahead, both organizations are set to develop joint training initiatives aimed at providing effective support and achieving impactful outcomes for the community.
