Karachi: Bank Alfalah hosted a special ceremony to wish Pakistani athletes success as they prepare for the Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025 in Turin, Italy. The bank, in collaboration with Special Olympics Pakistan (SOP), has been a staunch supporter of sports and inclusion, funding a PKR 9 million training initiative over two years. This program has benefitted 500 athletes, with 10 qualifying to represent Pakistan on the global stage.
According to a statement by Bank Alfalah, the collaboration with SOP underscores the bank's commitment to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities through sports. Special Olympics Pakistan, a non-profit organization, focuses on year-round sports training and competitions, aiming to develop physical fitness and community engagement among its athletes.
Special Olympics Pakistan's network includes over 35,000 registered athletes, 4,260 coaches, and 6,000 volunteers, all contributing to the organization's mission of promoting health, education, and community-building programs.
