Bank Alfalah Enhances Karachi Emigrant Office to Support Overseas Workers

Islamabad: In a significant step to improve the experience of overseas Pakistani workers, Bank Alfalah has completed a comprehensive renovation of the Protectorate of Emigrants (PE) Karachi Office. This initiative aims to facilitate the workers by upgrading the facility and providing essential information on secure remittance channels.

According to Bank Alfalah, the renovation includes modernization of the briefing hall and the addition of new educational and marketing materials. These enhancements are designed to educate workers on the benefits of using formal remittance channels and introduce them to Bank Alfalah’s related products and services. At the inauguration, the bank also partnered with an international exchange company to offer cashback vouchers worth 10,000 AED for workers traveling to the UAE, demonstrating a commitment to promoting formal remittance methods.

The event featured Mr. Akhtar Javed, Executive Director of the State Bank of Pakistan, who emphasized the crucial role of overseas Pakistanis in the national economy through their remittances. He praised the joint efforts of the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment and the banking sector under the Pakistan Remittance Initiative to educate workers on the risks of informal transfer methods like Hundi Hawala. The initiative has reached over 250,000 emigrants, resulting in the opening of over 15,000 new bank accounts.

The project underscores Bank Alfalah’s dedication to enhancing the financial well-being of Pakistanis working abroad, ensuring they have access to safe, efficient banking solutions. This public-private partnership exemplifies efforts to improve the banking experience for overseas Pakistanis and ensure they can support their families back home effectively.
