CDA Advances Plans for Expats’ Housing Project and Urban Development Initiatives

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is actively seeking to approve the PC-1 for a significant residential development dedicated to overseas Pakistanis situated along the Korang River. This development is part of a broader agenda aimed at enhancing the city’s infrastructure and housing solutions.

According to Zameen.Com, the proposed residential project will stretch over six and a half kilometers of the riverbank, providing high-quality living spaces in a key area of Islamabad. This initiative is parallel to efforts to obtain financial backing from the Asian Development Bank for constructing the new Islamabad Bus Terminal, reflecting a comprehensive approach to urban development.

The recent 13th CDA Board meeting, which was chaired by CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa and attended by all board members, prioritized multiple urban development projects. High on the agenda were proposals for reviving Islamabad’s cinema industry, with plans to erect four modern cinemas meeting international standards. Additionally, the board identified four other sites for future cinema developments, incorporating modern amenities to improve the city’s cultural and entertainment landscape.

The CDA board also focused on enhancing financial management within the authority. To this end, oversight of the Resource Wing was assigned to the Member Finance to optimize revenue collection and financial operations.
